Prayer Guide
W.O.R.S.H.I.P.
A Pre-Service Prayer Acrostic
Before the doors open, before the first note plays — pray this over your team and your room.
It's not a long prayer. It's a reset: asking God to move, not just planning for Him to.
W — Welcome
"Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing."
Pray we'd enter with joy, not routine.
O — Open
"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
Ask God to open and search every heart in the room.
R — Remove
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."
Pray every distraction and burden falls away before it begins.
S — Send
"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
Ask the Spirit to move like He did in the upper room.
H — Humble
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Pray humility over the team and the room.
I — Ignite
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
Ask for genuine hunger, not performance.
P — Prepare
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
Pray every heart is as ready to respond as Isaiah's was.
