Accountability Plan

SPARKS

An Accountability Model

Accountability is a relationship in which we invite honest questions, speak truth with love, and help one another take concrete steps of obedience to God.

Use this plan with a willing partner or small group. Agree on regular meetings, honest conversation, and a specific follow-up time.

  1. S — Speak truth in love

    Read: Ephesians 4:15; Proverbs 27:5–6

Describe what you have observed, explain your concern, and leave room to hear the other person's perspective.

  2. P — Pray for each other

    Read: James 5:16; Galatians 6:2

Bring the real struggle before God and keep praying for wisdom, courage, repentance, and strength.

  3. A — Ask honest questions

    Read: Proverbs 27:9; James 1:19

Ask open questions, listen carefully, and make honesty mutual by sharing your own struggles.

  4. R — Receive correction humbly

    Read: Proverbs 12:1; Galatians 6:1

Hear the concern before defending yourself, test it against Scripture, and own what is true.

  5. K — Keep your commitments

    Read: James 1:22; Matthew 5:37

Choose a clear action, set a time to complete it, and agree on when you will report back.

  6. S — Stay through the sparks

    Read: Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 10:24–25

Follow up after a difficult conversation, recognize growth, keep praying, and help one another return to faithful obedience.

Speak truth. Welcome correction. Stay through the sparks.
